State & Local Firefighter, EMS Associations Endorse Dinniman
WEST CHESTER (October 1, 2016) – The Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association, along with five Chester County Firefighter and Emergency Services Associations have endorsed Andy Dinniman for reelection to the Pennsylvania Senate.
- Coatesville Professional Firefighters’ Association, Local #3790
- West End Professional Firefighters Association, Local #4839 of Phoenixville
- Malvern Professional Firefighters Association, Local #4860
- East Whiteland Professional Firefighters Association, Local #4551
- Southern Chester County Paramedics, Local #5102
The leaders of these organizations cited Dinniman’s strong record on behalf of firefighters and emergency first responders in making the endorsement.
“Throughout your time in the Senate, you have championed matters that are significant to firefighters, especially our members in Chester County,” James Lentz, Secretary of the Coatesville Firefighters, wrote in endorsing Dinniman. “Your efforts on a variety of subjects from the creation of the Chester County Public Safety Training Center, Cancer Presumption for Firefighters, support of residential sprinklers, funding for enhanced fire and rescue services, and the rights of first responders maintains an undeviating progressive result to preserving the safety of the public as well as enhancing the health and safety of all firefighters.”
“Senator Andrew Dinniman has been a key legislator who has always fought for first responders and the safety of his constituents by pushing for legislation such as Project Naloxone, in which he, along with Good Fellowship Ambulance, started an education program to train first responders and to provide Naloxone to emergency responders,” Larry Bengough, Acting President of the West End Professional Firefighters, wrote. “In the ever-evolving world of public
service, we need legislators like Senator Dinniman, who will continue to combat public safety threats such as those that Project Naloxone was put in place to assist.”
“The membership appreciated having a champion for emergency medical service providers in the State Capitol and looks forward to your continued support. Your recognition over the years by many Chester County public service organizations is a testament to your commitment to better our ability to provide outstanding care to the communities we represent and serve alike,” Michael Gerisch, Sr, President of the Southern Chester County Paramedics, wrote.
“We know that you are committed to supporting legislation that enables us to continue to safely serve the residents of the 19th District,” Saveria Sardone, President of the Malvern Professional Fire Fighters Association, wrote.
Dinniman said he was honored to have the backing of so many firefighters and emergency first responders – which adds to the long and growing list of Chester County emergency service and law enforcement organizations that have endorsed him for reelection.
“Public safety is a core responsibility and function of government, and these are the men and women who put their lives on the line day in and day out to keep us safe,” Dinniman, who serves on the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, said. “I thank them for their endorsement, I thank them for their service, and I pledge to continue to stand with our firefighters and all emergency first responders in working to ensure that they have the tools, resources, support, and services necessary to do their jobs and keep our communities safe.”
Dinniman has already been endorsed by the Chester County Police Chiefs Association and the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police.
